Millet porridge
Description
Millet Porridge is a delicious traditional preparation made from millet, often served hot. Creamy and nourishing, it is ideal for a healthy breakfast or snack, rich in fiber and vitamins.
Ingredients
- Lumps of millet from @tcheris_market
- Water
- Tamarind (tommy)
- Ginger (optional because the lumps from @tcheris_market already contain some)
- Baobab powder from @tcheris_market
- Lemon juice (optional if you add tamarind and baobab)
- Vanilla extract or vanilla essence or vanilla sugar
- Lataha honey from @tcheris_market or sugar
Preparation
1. In a saucepan, bring the water to a boil (2L for 150g of millet lumps)
2. In the meantime, use a vase and wet the tamarinds in water
3. Add the lumps of millet to the boiling water, stir and cook for about 5 minutes
4. Pour a little baobab powder into a jar, add water, dilute and sift directly into the saucepan
5. Crumble the tamarinds, sift them and add them to the preparation
6. Stir everything and cook for another 5 to 10 minutes
7. Add vanilla extract or vanilla sugar
8. Remove from the heat, sweeten with local honey @tcheris_market or with sugar
9. Serve yourself and enjoy your porridge with the doughnuts of your choice.
